in this case I just sat down at my computer and wrote, this story has no name yet.. this is first chapter called
Brothers sudden disappearance.
Whispering in my ear, I heard the voice as I sat their asleep. I could barely hear the voice of my brother telling me to wake up and get dressed, I had not slept good in the past week or so and was dreadfully tired. I stumbled out of bed to notice the time was 5:00 am, which was unusual for me as I went to school at 9:00 am. Me and my brother lived together in a apartment building on Chaplin Street, my name is Sarah Mcalister, and my brothers name is Brian Mcalister. I got dressed and got into his car with no idea of where we were going, he turned on rock and roll like he usually did in the morning. We drove quite fast, and I asked him where we were going. He muttered something, and I could barely understand what he said but i did catch the words “to pull a job”. We pulled up to a building and he got out of the car, my brother said in a stern voice “Stay here, dont move a muscle” and I obey’d, I stood in the car for about 20 mins before I heard a noise. I got out of the car and walked through gravel to the large warehouse, I didn’t see anything at first. I opened the warehouse door to find the warehouse DEAD EMPTY, my brother was no where in sight. I began panicking and suddenly found something. I found a dead body, I could not figure out who the person was but I knew to call the police, I hurried to the car and grabbed my cell phone and dialed 911. They said they would trace the call as I had no idea where I was and it ended up taking them a while before they got to the scene of the crime. The cops looked for clues to my brothers whereabouts and were quite interested in every single detail I could remember, I told them everything from that morning till now. They said the guys name was Bruce Chung, a known gang of the Mafia. Bruce Chung was wanted for alot of small crimes and more, they said my brother was in some sort of trouble also but when they finished looking around my brother was gone. I was taken to the station and was questioned some more, and was put into a orphanage and was told if my brother was found I would be called on the spot.

People with no goals usually don’t succeed, atleast thats what I heard. So I made a list of my webmaster related goals and here they are-

1. Be prepared to each show, with something to talk about (No dead air)
2. To get lots of traffic for Webmaster Cookbook
3. To get Spawn to say something more than yes, no, maybe, during the show
4. To get into a routine of posting something everyday on both Webmaster Cookbook and Orting
5. To get into a routine of getting traffic and visiting blogs on Blog Explosion

These are just 5 of my goals, but I wonder what are your goals? These goals that I talked about are all short term goals, one of my long term goals is to become a great engineer and I am making lots of progress to that.

We started the show a bit late because I came into the studio 10 minutes late because my teacher would only accept late work if it was done at school. I ended up staying and getting 4 assignments done which was good, then I came to the studio and the show starts up and ChefTD out of nowhere says Jowl and Spawn I am going to let you guys have this 15 minutes to talk about how we could improve the show during the week. Spawn could not help saying anything more then yes, no, maybe. So I basically ended up talking alot of the time I suggested that we start doing blogexplosion every day to increase the amount of traffic coming. Spawn suggested that we should start saying the link to our chatroom at the beginning of the show and I thought that was a great idea. Then the show came to the end and we asked everyone if they had any ideas on how we could improve the show during the week. If you have any ideas be sure to tell us because we are open to any ideas.

Okay, ChefTD pulled me onto Pandora which was created by Music Genome Project. Pandora is a free music station where you select music titles or artists that you wish to have on your station. The free version of Pandora has advertisements but I have listened to 20+ songs and not heard a advertisement. You can get Pandora at this site, when you get there if you like rock and roll you can listen to my stations which are JOWLS ROCKING ROCK, and Jowls station or you can listen to ChefTD’s station which is TD’s Rock Radio. This is a good music service and I highly reccomend it because all i’ve been hearing is good music, and they have all types of music if your not into the music not me or ChefTD like you can create your own station and then start adding music.

I’m back and I know it has been a while since I posted something on the site. Last week I was at school getting caught up on some work because I was sick for a few days. Today I am going to be writing show notes and getting as much done as humanly possible between 10:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. I will also be working on the show notes and such after the show as always, and I hope to get some help from Spawn. Today the shows notes for 55,56, should be posted today and 57 will be ready to be posted tomorrow. I will be working on doing a better job of posting every week because that is my job and I have indeed been neglecting my job and duties.

Alright so im writing code and I go to upload it and I get a parse error that says

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /web/sites/tdavid/webmastercookbook.com/courses/php101/jowl/1b1.php on line 7.

I’m unsure of what a T variable is so can anyone help me, I looked at my line 7 and don’t see any errors, here is line 7:

Both spawn and I have run into the same problem and we have also had many errors but have worked through them, I will ask ChefTD about a T variable later on in the show today.

I fixed it by changing my code to this, i figured out i was missing a closing tag.

Update 1:15pm PST: I just learned that I was not suppose to put a print out in front of the dollar sign and that the code up there is still wrong. (from ChefTD: Yes, you can put print in front of the $string, but you were trying to print and then assign at the same time, which is not what you wanted to do.)

Well this weekend is Labor Day weekend which means I don’t have to go back to school on monday I can just stay home because its a day off. So that is cool but what will I spend my 3 days doing, so many things I can do possibly I’ll go outside or read a book. Playing on the computer gets boring after a while but I do like it and well I will head outside this weekend. The exercising that ChefTD and I have been doing has made me lose weight, and now I cant fit into my pants. So I guess the working out has done me well even though its hard to get up.

This morning is and will be a harsh morning for me because first of all its the first day of school again, and not that I have problems getting up or anything but if you cant sleep and you stay up till 3:00 am how do you expect to wake up at 4:00 am? So I haven’t gone to school quite yet but I will be sure to add in some of my thoughts of my first day in 10th grade. Also this morning I downloaded MSN Toolbar because I needed tab browsing. I’m one of those people kind of like my Mom who always has tons of windows open and thats why I like MSN Toolbars tab browsing.

So I go to the school to sign up and I end up sitting there for a hour and a half, finally my name was called. Then my schedule was changed about 3 times but then it finally was good and I didn’t really check it. I had gotten to meet many of my friends there and it was fun. So then my Mom takes a look at it and goes Jowl you got 2 science classes in 1 semester and I go well that shouldn’t be but I didn’t really mind because I had really waited a long time for the schedule. Aside from that it was a good morning and I say to myself why can’t I wake up at 4:00 am.

I missed me and ChefTD’s workout this morning but we are going later tonight, tomorrow is a challenge for myself to get up and be ready to go by 5:00am so we can workout. Back to my schedule I got Earth Science fist period, then health, and then I have Applied math, and last but not least Biology. I struck out on my classes because I wasn’t fast enough to really get in on the ones that I needed so that made me have to switch in and out of classes but I am fine with it and will enjoy starting school on Thursday. Also today I looked at some blogs that I liked that provided some information on hurricane Katrina and some other cool stuff.

First of all I started doing blogexplosion to get some more traffic to this blog and to Orting. In one day I managed to get 100 unused credits, which I can use for making banners or I can use to send more traffic to either blog. Blogexplosion has this really cool thing called Battle of the blogs, where you put your blog against other peoples blogs and you stake credits and the person who wins gets all the credits. I tried it a couple times the first Battle of the blogs I did I never really lost or won, second I lost but it was fun. Also I started working on new things for my website and made a post there.

Google Talk is Googles lastest new thing they got going on and well there are still a few kinks with the program. ChefTD and I were testing it last night and at first neither of us could hear anything except a dial tone which would lead to nothing.
After a few more calls to eachother we finally got sound but after a minute of talking it became very distorted and hard to hear, I would not rank it with skype yet but its getting there. I expect that Google Talk will be ahead or close to Skype as soon as they fix the few kinks they have, but for now I give Google Talk a c+.

This week ChefTD and I, in addition to working out every morning at 5 am we come back and work on the podcasts. The podcasts are going to most likely be done this week sometime. We put up one yesterday and are putting up one more today and will continue putting them up this week till we are caught up.

I now know how to do the stuff needed in making a draft and getting it all squared away so that it can be put on the site, and im putting that information to good use.

I had made drafts previously in Blog Event, but I lost all those drafts but I did remake them and look for podcasts 36-47 coming this week. Also thanks for your patience with me its not ChefTD’s fault its more or less mine because I didn’t take the stuff he told me and use it right away to make the drafts.

The difference between Peerflix and Netflix is that Peerflix is peer to peer meaning you send in old dvd’s and get to watch dvd’s in return. Netflix is were you pay a fee and they send you the movies, I gave Netflix a B.

Looked at a new program produced by Microsoft to try and get younger children into computers, I seemed to have some troubles with it. But it was a good program, im sorry my brothers couldn’t be there to play it.

We worked with Mirc IRC chatrooms, We also made a chatroom called jowl. I figured out how to make join IRC chatrooms yesterday using a program called Trillian. Trillian not only does chat but it also does, Aim(Aol Instant Messaging), Yahoo Instant Messaging, and Msn Instant Messaging. There are more programs out there to do chat through, ChefTD said wonderful things about Colloquy, keep in mind that this program is only for the Mac. After that we went and did Blogevent.

See i have taken what i have learned thus far to make the Orting site better and indeed easier for people to read, it is real cool and i hope that you will come see it Orting, also i have been using blogevent, ChefTD and I discussed this in last weeks show which will be put up i promise im taking screenshots of the site and working with that today after school and I have got some idea’s and maybe ill convince Spawn to come back on Webmastercookbook because he is a game enthusiast. Also i have been reading the news on the Xbox 360 which is sure to be a killer system and one that i hope ill be able to play when it comes out.

I will be out today a matter of fact taking pictures and they will have 1 added every day like ChefTD has suggested to me many times. I rushed out the door this morning and grabbed the camera. So be looking at this site orting for my brilliant shots of places in the city of Orting.
