ChefTD notices that Jowl had lined up some new people to start writing for the Orting website and Jowl describes his strategy of getting people to have their own blogs in categories. ChefTD and Jowl listen to Podcat’s Its Pat clip and discuss a podcast mention from another show. ChefTD and Jowl then use Blog Explosion to surf blogs and earn credits for Webmaster Cookbook, along the way demoing the different features and discussing some of the blogs they discover while surfing like mystery credits, monthly lottery for credits and the read 2 blogs and get one reader back to your blog ratio. Also, some discussion on what a five level referral program means. At the end of the show they generated double the traffic that had been received for the day in less than one hour. [note: an hour after the show, the open 3rd party traffic stats showed more than double the average daily traffic]

HI David, hi Jowl :)

Just listen to you 3rd show :) It’s great :)

Could it be possible jowl to have a mike. I clearly hear the Chief, but semm either far away or had loose mike. I can’t put the speaker level to high, or the Chief would vry in my flat ;)

I had difficulties to hear your Skype Nickname.. Is it TD ?

Your shows are great. I regret it so long (about 1 hour). I don’t have so much time to listen at once. Why not cutting the show in 3 part of 20 minn, for example ?

Thank, keep going :)

ChefTD:

Hello Olivier - Thank you for listening and giving us feedback. My skype contact (with answering machine is “TDavid”). We’re going to register another Skype name though just for the show and we’ll post that in a future show and on the website here. You are welcome to add my personal skype to your list though you probably won’t see me very often on it.

Also, this was actually our 18th show, not our 3rd show :) You can find a full list of all our past shows here, though not all of them are available for download yet.

Jowl is miked up and his microphone gain is actually turned on the preamp higher than mine, but unfortunately he doesn’t talk into the microphone a lot of the time. It’s something I’ve been working with him on and your comment will certainly help him better see that he’s not talking into the microphone enough of the time.

I think I’m going to buy him a boom mike stand so it’s always closer to him instead of where he needs to talk down into it on the table, he will look the other way and talk away from it a lot of the time and this hurts the normalization of our volume :(

Your suggestion about cutting the show up is a really good one and something we have seriously been contemplating. We have discussed before that one hour is probably too long and we need to figure out how we can slice this down to say 30-40 minutes which would be a better maximum length. I’m thinking maybe two segments of 20 minutes each. We have to get the material a little tighter though to make it with this timeframe though. Maybe we’ll still do an hour, but reserve the last 20 minutes for a private or members-only type feed. Call that the bonus segment each week or something.

I’m sorry about my volume I didn’t notice that I was indeed not talking into the mike. Next show I will be much louder, thank you for your comment.
