Books for dummies, are they good help?

Posted by Jowlstar on Aug 16, 2004

Recently my dad handed me a book for dummies. I took it as an insult but the book actually included good information. Like what ftp is, I learned that ftp means file transfer protocal.

Which is transfering files from like a camera to the computer. I also learned what jpegs were the common type of graphics. I also learned from my dad that when you take a picture, the size of it is really big. So you have to crunch it down to a size of atleast 30k. I now know that books for dummies are good.

Most of the Dummies books are pretty good, but some are stinkers too. Like the PHP one.
