Dave Winer creates audio.weblogs.com pinger debugger

Posted by ChefTD on Oct 29, 2004

I already thanked him in the comments, but Dave Winer created a audio.weblogs.com ping debugger to help podcasters with getting their feeds listed in audio.weblogs.com. This RSS 2.0 feed wasn’t validating because it was missing the language en-us tag. Wordpress users that are having this same problem, you will want to add the following to your wp-rss2.php file just beneath the channel description and then pinging again either manually using the audio.weblogs.com ping form or through trackback using http://audiorpc.weblogs.com/RPC2. Here’s the code to add:

<language>en-us</language>

Will Jowl be “tricking” or “treating”

Posted by Jowlstar on Oct 29, 2004

I’m not going to be treating anyone to treats this year because my parents did buy treats but I got hungry. I will most likely be going to friends houses. So you might say I will be tricking or trying to trick or treat lol. I am al little big so it might be hard for me to pass off as a young kid, but I’ll make the best of it. all I do know is that I will be at a dance tonight.

Comment moderation in effect - please keep it clean

Posted by site admin on Oct 29, 2004

Because this is a family-friendly website and blog and we’ve had a few undesirable comments (mostly spam-oriented), we’ve now had to turn on comment moderation. Therefore, any comment made must first be approved by Jowl, the site admin or ChefTD before being made visible on the website. ChefTD is going to make sure Jowl is up to speed on how to do this today. Sorry for the inconvenience, the Webmaster Cookbook cooking staff will try to routinely approve comments.

Also, if registering for this site or making comments, please do not link to any adult-oriented sites. Keep it clean as there are younger folks here. You are welcome to and encouraged to put up links to your mainstream family-friendly websites, especially if it is webmaster-related.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
