Mr 3000 the movie

Yesterday after the show we went to go see Mr 3000. It was quite interesting although I didn’t really like it. My rating is a C+, I would not go to see this movie again. Well it seemed to last a long time and in the end I didn’t exactly figure out why they made the movie.

It is packed with a couple laughs and if your not completey paying attention you might fall asleep. I feel asleep half way through the movie. I’ll catch the ending when we buy it on dvd, if we buy it on dvd.

As a reward for 8 weeks of working dilligently on the orting.com site, Chef TD tells Jowl he gets 30 minutes of this show to teach him whatever he wants. ChefTD teaches Jowl how to clean up and implement index pages across the navigation structure of the site. Also they go through how to use a new font type — Arial — to change the font type of the navigation links so they stick out a bit more. Jowl decides to use his time to show ChefTD the game DiabloII in which ChefTD will be killed within five minutes by a vile archer! In a coda / fatherly moment at the end of the show ChefTD confronts Jowl on the subject of grades and how it is important that the website and games not get in the way of maintaining his honor roll status at School (A’s and B’s). Jowl says he looks forward to the radio show every Friday.

I added new things to Orting

Yesterday to chefTD’s disbelief i was working on Orting’s unofficial website. I tried some work with photos and tonight I hope to create another logo for the website. Other then that I have not done much but I do also hope to change the picture af the front of the unofficial orting website.

Pressure is mounting

Filed under: General — ChefTD @ 6:24 am

With back to school, and the added responsibilities Jowl is starting to to tire from learning about and working on the website. This is the phase, I guess, where we need to take some time off so this Friday is going to be a little more relaxed than the previous seven shows. I’ve told Jowl that he can choose what we’ll do for 30 minutes of the show.

I think a lot of it has to do with Jowl sleeping when he gets home from school and then getting up in the wee hours of the morning to play Diablo. Then he doesn’t like getting up for school first thing in the morning. Life is a lot about balance: balancing the fun with the work. This could be one of the most important shows we’ve done so far this coming Friday.

I think we need to start taking screenshots

Filed under: General — ChefTD @ 4:22 pm

I’ve been thinking that we should be taking screenshots of the orting.com website as we build it so that we can refer to these images before and after each show. Also, this will show a visual slideshow of how the site evolves each week based on our Friday live reality how-to radio show

Next Friday (9/24/04) I’m going to add to the list to review with Jowl how to take screenshots and then add them to this blog.

Jowl breaks down

ChefTD let Jowl break down for the first time. Jowl had no idea what he was doing. Jowl was kind off frustrated but towards the end he felt that chefTD thought that he was getting it. Well other then that it was a good show and Jowl learned how to successfully put the logo he and chefTD made on orting.com.

Show Summary:

ChefTD plays a trick on Jowl at the start of the show by giving him show #6 intro material to read. Jowl learns how to create a logo using the logo creator program from Summit Soft ($19.99 at Best Buy). Jowl has problems remembering how to create the code for adding an IMaGe to a web document. ChefTD explains why it is important to learn the underlying code and not just cut and paste code. ChefTD and Jowl discuss the “detoriation factor” returning to the fact that it is important to use the skills or they will be forgotten. Jowl has breakdown moment for the first time in the history of the show which he writes about later here. He challenges Jowl to be able to add the image code to a page and then FTP to “Atlanta” server within 1 minute.

My mom gets her permit

My mom tries to get her permit for driving. She passed, but I’m a bit worried that her driving skills have worn out since the last time she drived.

The last time she drived was when she was 16. Tonight is the first time me and my brothers get to witness my mom’s driving skills.

Diablo 2 Lords of Destruction

My first comments of the game are good, but once you play it awhile it just gets old. I dislike how when I shift to something new to play here comes my brothers to ruin it.

We are the best of friends until we get on the subject of a game, then well things don’t turn out good

“lol”

Overall I liked Diablo. As for my brothers and I, I will make a goal to get along with them, or at least try to.

Any good music?

It is not to often that I find music that I like. That is why I have not been listening to new hip modern junk that is popular with a lot of kids my age, but I must say if it has a good beat that you can dance to it is ok. ChefTD and I like the same music, we both like rock and roll.

I get my rock and roll influences from him, but I get my appreciation of oldies music from my mom. I like pretty much alot of music so I’m going to challenge you to find a newer band that is good that I might like.

Thank you for the info

First of all I want to say that ChefTD has his doubts about how I’m going to do and I understand why. I promised him I would write at this blog every day, but lately I have not been keeping up my promise. I also want to say thank you to Rowdy for the link, I had a look at the website and there is some good information that I will need. I need to better organize my time and will work on that.

I came across this as a good reference for Jowl (thanks to Rowdy) about the IMG tag: Information about Images

Jowl learns how to create a navigational structure for the website and also how when someone searches for a page that isn’t there — 404 error — how to redirect these users to the home page using .htaccess. Jowl reviews the game Diablo and there is a mini-review of the concepts learned.

School

I like shcool, because I’m given the chance to learn new things. My teachers seem nice but you never know. We have only gone a week into the year. I have been trying to use my skills of building a website as often as possible. Even though my dad says my skills are being lost.

Uploading pictures to website

Im not to good at remembering things but I think this stuff is going to stick in my brain. I sat for an hour trying to fix my dilema, my dilema was that the pictures were all good but two of them were bad.

So my dad said try to fix your mistakes, so I began working to correct my mistakes. My first mistake was easy to correct, I had forgetten a space and that messed that up. Then I added the space and it was fixed. My next mistake toke me a bit longer to correct but its still not finished to prefection.

I had the picture there but it wasn’t like the other pictures. It had a box looking thing there then you clicked on that and it brought up the picture. So I decided to make the picture big and that fixed my problem.
